intersectionality

Today I found this wonderful quote from an article written by Amelia Jones in Artforum October 2003. Jones articulates the theory of intersectionallty and how it impacts feminist conceptions of identity. I like intersectionality because it enforces the issues of race, class and sexuality in easy conceptualisations of oppression. Jones writes a way for feminism that is wonderful tentative and self-reflexive. One that I hope to apply to my own writing.
