 I realised today that i have for want of other models already decided what I'm going to look like when I'm 50. I first read The Dark knight Returns when i was about 17 and its imagination of an aged, square 1950's Bruce Wane are scored into my mind. Batman's masculinity is uncontested for the most part but the concept of a mustachioed, long coat wearing, heavy drinking batman comes back to me again. its scary how much of an impact such texts have made on my aging sense of self.
